WORLD OCEANS DAY is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for the better future. June 8th observed to be the world ocean’s day to create awareness about the dying entity that is so essential for survival and sustainability of every living thing on this planet. This day is a reminder of how vital the oceans are for our everyday survival.
World Environment day 2018 is focussed on beating plastic pollution and how it pollutes our oceans causing tremendous harm to our marine resources and it’s eco-system.
- We are responsible for 80% of pollution generated in the ocean.
- We are responsible for producing 8 million tonnes of plastic every year that ends up in the ocean.
- We are responsible for most of the marine ecosystems extinction.
- We are responsible for deteriorating health of the food chain.
